About

Links Detector makes printed links clickable. Point your phone's camera at a page of a book or a magazine, and it finds the links and lets you open them with a tap instead of typing them in character by character.

It works like a QR code scanner for ordinary URLs. A detection model trained with the TensorFlow 2 Object Detection API finds the links in the camera image, and Tesseract.js reads their text. It all runs in the browser on the phone's GPU through WebGL, and the app can be installed as a progressive web app.

The project is an experimental alpha, and the accompanying article explains how the model was trained and how the detection works.
